About Me

Welcome to Rose Garden Home-Ed groups!

I am Elena, and I am thrilled to share my passion for arts, crafts, holistic approach to education and natural language learning with your children.

My Journey

My love for crafts began eight years ago when I had my son. This new found passion for creativity became a significant part of our lives, sparking joy and bonding through various projects.

Crafting together opened my eyes to the world of Arts and Crafts and its immense value in child development and learning. Education have always been at the heart of my life.

My Background

I worked at Brighton Waldorf School, where I experienced an educational philosophy that emphasizes creativity, imagination, and holistic development. This background deeply influenced my approach to teaching and crafting, instilling in me the importance of nurturing the whole child. Over the years, I have taught Spanish in a very effective way, helping children and adults alike to naturally learn the language through immersive experiences.

Currently, I am a trained Waldorf Steiner Kindergarten teacher as I continued to deepen my knowledge and skills in this holistic educational approach.

The Turning Point

My journey took an unexpected turn when my son’s Brighton Waldorf school, where I was also a member of the staff, closed down. This left us without a school for him, without a job and a place for my hours of practice for me. This challenging situation became a catalyst for a new beginning. Inspired by my son’s love for crafts and my passion for teaching, I decided to create Rose Garden Home-Ed.

Homeschooling my own child had always been my dream since he was born. Creating this group allowed me to fulfill that dream while providing a nurturing community for other children to learn and grow.

Through our carefully crafted sessions, children will:

  • Create: Simple hands-on projects that include painting, sculpting with DIY playdough, and crafting.
  • Learn: Exposure to Spanish language in a fan and natural way.
  • Grow: Develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and social skils all adapted to each group and age.

Founding Rose Garden Home-Ed

With this vision in mind, I founded Rose Garden Home-Ed. My goal is to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where children from the age of 3 to 12 can dive into the world of crafts, learning Spanish and growing through hands-on activities. Each session is designed to spark creativity, encourage self-expression, and allow children to naturally learn Spanish as they would in a native-speaking environment.

What We Do

At Rose Garden Home-Ed, we offer a variety of projects/activities that range from painting and sculpting to crafting and collage. Our activities allow children to explore different techniques and styles while enjoying the creative process.

Our sessions are inspired by the Waldorf Steiner philosophy, focusing on imaginative play, artistic expression, and connection with nature. We emphasize seasonal rhythms in our projects, aligning our activities with the natural world to foster a deep appreciation for the environment.

Our small group sizes ensure personalized attention and a friendly community feel.

Integrating Eduction And Language

In addition to crafts, our sessions incorporate basic math, writing, and science activities. We believe in a holistic approach to education, ensuring that children not only have fun but also develop essential academic skills. From counting and simple arithmetic to writing practice and science experiments, we integrate these subjects in a playful and engaging manner.

Spanish is embedded naturally into our sessions. Children learn the language in an immersive environment, picking up words and phrases through interactive activities, stories, songs and everyday conversation, just as they would in a native-speaking setting.

Our Waldorf Influence

Our approach is inspired by the Waldorf Steiner philosophy, which emphasizes seasonal rhythms and nature. The changing seasons influence our decorations and the types of activities we offer. From autumn leaf crafts to spring flower projects, we align our sessions with the natural world, fostering a deep connection to the environment and seasonal cycles.
